Create a widget

Creating a new widget is a simple process and takes only a minute. The video below shows you how.

  1. Log in to the ShowSpace backend.
  2. Click on "Create a widget" in the getting started list
    to get to the form to create a new widget.
  3. Fill in the name of the widget.
    This is mostly a way for you to keep your widgets apart, but you can also show the name above the widget.
    This is the only required field. You could click on the "Create" button now to create the widget.
  4. Change the value in the "Button Text" field or keep the prefilled value.
    This text will be shown in the buttons for each product.
  5. Check or uncheck the "Show Widget Name?" checkbox.
    This will determine if the name of the widget (which you entered earlier) will be shown above the widget on your site.
  6. Select a product image size.
    Simply click on the box that has the size you want.
  7. Move on to the "Layout" tab.
  8. Choose if your widget should have a horizontal or vertical layout.
    In a horizontal layout the products are shown besides each other while in a vertical layout the products are shown in rows below each other.
  9. Depending on which layout you chose for your widget, different options are shown below.
    Horizontal layout:
    1. Choose the number of rows in the widget.
      Each row will contain multiple products next to each other.
    2. Select how many products should be shown in each row.
    3. Select if the product names, product prices and buttons should be shown for each product.
    Vertical layout:
    1. Choose the number of rows in the widget.
      Each row will contain one product.
  10. Click on "Create".
    This will submit the form and take you back to your widget list if the widget was created successfully. If an error occurred, you will stay in the form and the fields that contain errors will be marked in red.
